Today, let’s talk about how to increase your Google Page Rank for the coming up Google Page Rank Update.
1. Research your competition. Find out their backlinks sources. Find out who’re the top websites linking to them.
2. Find an equivalent or better than competition website to link to you.
Ex: If Site A has a backlink from Site X of PR5 and site A has PR4, try to get a link from a site with PR6.

3. Track down all your external links and chop off all the broken links. They don’t help you or the user’s anyway.
4. Nofollow all external links to untrusted websites. They don’t do any good either.
5. Add your backlinks on RSS feeds. Scraper sites can get you backlinks for free, though low quality ones.
6. Launch a link building campaign well in advance. Two to three months ahead of a possible Google PR update is good enough.
7. Track down all your landing pages with most page rank, (use Xenu). Then link your low Page Ranked pages from these pages. For the next update, even if your homepage and landing pages didn’t improve their Page Rank, these pages will.
8. Avoid sitewide links and footer/sidebar links. These areas are low profile areas, where if unnaturally high number of links are found, raises flags at Google.
9. Find out all your existing backlinks, and make sure they are linking to you with the right anchor texts of your choice.
10. Do not make all backlink anchor texts strikingly similar. “Stem it out” with a focus on your primary and secondary keywords.
11. Comment on authority blogs a lot. Although nofollow links aren’t supposed to pass Google Juice, most of these sites have either a “top commentator” link or carry strong authority.
12. Tweet a lot. Try to get popular folks on Twitter to tweet stuff from your website. Most of the time, tweets get copied to many online properties giving you backlinks.
13. Try to get a real good quality, authority link from an trusted source. Just one is enough, not many. Try all these link building methods.
14. Use valid, manual directory submission strategy. Get listed in all well established directories like DMOZ.
15. Find out all the HTML and CSS errors on the site and fix it.
16. See if you can get a good score on W3C validation tools.
17. Reduce the site load time significantly. Though this has visibly no direct relationship with Page Rank, it helps.
18. Check your site via GWT for malware and broken links. Kill Malware and reduce 404s to minimum. This will help you get a clean score.
19. Interlink your pages within the site using proper anchor texts, so as to create a good network apart from the default structure. If on WordPress, use a plugin like KB Linker.
20. Fix duplicate entries by using Robots.txt and Meta tags. Use an SEO Tool like Sheer SEO to find all the possible duplicate content on your website and fix it to minimum.
