Frank Darabont Joins Godzilla as Producers Exit

It's already been a crazy day for Legendary Pictures' upcoming Godzilla reboot, which is now trampling toward a recently announced and fast-approaching production start date.

Deadline reports that former The Walking Dead showrunner Frank Darabont has signed on to the project for a final rewrite on the script penned by The Seventh Son's Max Borenstein.

At the same time, according to HitFix, Warners-based producers Dan Lin and Roy Lee are now off the monster feature, leaving it to Legendary's Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni, along with Brian Rogers.

Despite these changes, the studio and director Gareth Edwards intend to begin shooting the film this March, with a release still set for May 16, 2014.
